On April 18th, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) extended TPS to Ukrainian nationals.
This new designation allows Ukrainian nationals who have continuously resided in the U.S. since April 11, 2022 and has continuous physical presence in the U.S. since April 19, 2022 to apply for TPS. Application for TPS could be submitted as of April 19 th, and eligible applicants will be provided with 18 month TPS and employment authorization.
TPS is a temporary protective status which allows eligible individuals to stay in the U.S., with authorization to work and without fear of deportation as long as they meet the criteria for TPS.
Note that this only benefit Ukrainian nationals who arrived in the U.S. on or before April 11, 2022.
