Attorney Andrea Timerman was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2010, but her experience in immigration law comes before that time.
Originally from Brazil, Andrea immigrated to the U.S. in 2001. As an immigrant herself, she understands the challenges of moving to a new country to pursue a dream, and the importance of the immigration process in achieving that dream. Additionally, as an immigrant herself, she could experience the difficulties and barriers that exists in communicating with the attorney and understanding the process in order to make decisions. Thus, as part of her professional goal, Andrea pledges to provide good communication and information to her clients to help them understand and make informed decisions about their cases.
Besides her personal experience as in immigrant, Andrea has obtained professional immigration experience since Law school where she worked FIU’s Immigration and Human Rights Clinic, and at FIU’s Community Development Clinic. She also interned in worked in prominent immigration law firms in Miami where she gained valuable experience before opening her law firm with her partner Laura Schonberg in 2012.
At Schonberg & Timerman PL, Andrea has been successfully representing clients in their diverse immigration matters including business immigration, family immigration, investment immigration, human trafficking, VAWA, DACA, TPS, naturalization, and others.
Today, Ms. Timerman balances her job as an attorney at Schonberg & Timerman, P.L. with her life as a wife and mother.
Andrea is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and Florida Bar since 2010 and is a Notary Public for the State of Florida. She has a Law Degree from Florida International University College of Law (2009) where she received the Dean’s Scholarship, Dean’s List recognition, and graduated Cum Laude in the top 10% of her class. She has a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Pace University (2006) in New York City, where she graduated Suma Cum Laude.
Andrea is fluent in English, Portuguese, Spanish and speaks French. Her multiculturalism goes beyond speaking the language, but actually living in different cities around the world, including Sao Paulo, Paris, Sevilla, New York and Miami.
